The 30th Edition reconfirms Milano Unica’s commitment to sustainability

The February 2020 edition of Milano Unica was marked by an important shift in the exhibition layout concept of its Content Projects.

The paradigm shift, merging the Areas dedicated to Tendenze and the Sustainability Project, provides concrete evidence for Sustainable Creativity.

Creative fabrics and accessories can be both environmentally friendly and safe healthwise. The products that met the criteria established by Milano Unica Technical Committee, amounted to 1,400 samples and were presented by 186 participating companies in the single immersive area.

This data shows a significant increase compared to the last edition, up 40% in the number of samples and 24% in the number of the participating companies.

Broad consensus was confirmed in relation to the need for eliminating the use of hazardous chemicals from the supply chain, with 1,048 products developed with processes that are certified according to the currently applicable standards and protocols.

As in previous editions, visitors could follow the path assisted by icons representing the various types of sustainability performance featured by the samples and the companies, divided according to the corresponding product or process sustainability classification.

The visibility of each participating company was increased through the presentation of one or more products, accompanied by a tag specifying the product’s main characteristics.

Visitors interested in learning more about the companies and their samples could contact the team of assistants available in the area and ask to receive more detailed product cards.
