MU METAMORPHOSIS

Spring – Summer 2028 Collections

The Milano Unica Collections for the Spring-Summer 2028 season revolve around the theme of METAMORPHOSIS.

The word METAMORPHOSIS encapsulates the notion of a complete and all-encompassing transformation. Without merely depicting a new aesthetic shift, it reflects a profound change in the way we live, our consumption habits, and how we value things.

This is a result of a change in the way we approach life, behave and socialise, which consequently informs the way we dress. At the core of this transformation is nature, the primary and ever-present model of evolution; everything is in a constant state of transformation, adapting and regenerating as it changes form, colour and matter in response to global conditions.

METAMORPHOSIS offers a path to a lighter, more mindful and authentic way of life, helping us to restore balance between ourselves, our time and our environment.

The quest for greater freedom also translates into a commitment to more mindful consumption, which is achieved by favouring innovative, durable, and timeless brands, products, and materials that retain their value and that can become transgenerational.

This transition is reflected in fashion through materials becoming lighter, surfaces taking on new tactile depths, and increasingly subtle technologies that are seamlessly integrated into everyday life. Research has shifted its focus from performance and innovation to the evolving and adaptable nature of materials, which can take on new interpretations.

Lightness is therefore not just a matter of weighing less; it is a new lifestyle philosophy.

Just as life changes, so do materials. Fabrics are becoming lighter and more thoughtfully designed, and are offering greater adaptability. Production processes are rediscovering the value of craftsmanship, and technology is becoming an integral part of everyday life. Wool, traditionally associated with the colder seasons, evolves towards new levels of lightness: ultra-fine qualities, airy surfaces and ultralight constructions expand its versatility, making it suitable for summer and for an increasingly transversal wardrobe.

The Spring-Summer 2028 season rejects excess in favour of striking a new balance between beauty, functionality, and meaning. It is a form of fashion that evolves alongside humanity, society, and nature.

The Spring-Summer 2028 Collections draw inspiration from three key principles:

• Lightness: the reduction of physical and mental weight, consumption, and excessively heavy structures;

• Enrichment: the rediscovery of handcrafted techniques and attention to detail as factors thatenhance a product’s identity and value;

• Adaptability: materials and products designed to support an increasingly fluid lifestyle, moving seamlessly between city life, travel, the great outdoors, the home, and hybrid working.

These three principles form the basis for the three themes of the Spring-Summer 2028 Collections:
