Opening Day at Milano Unica
Yesterday was the inauguration of the 26th edition
Visitor attendance numbers for the opening day of Milano Unica were as expected.
The Inaugural Ceremony, which began with a heartfelt tribute to the memory of Silvio Albini by President Ercole Botto Poala, presented the public with an interesting overview of prospects and opportunities for the Italian textiles sector in the near future.
Sustainability, the digital world and fashion tech, as well as the importance of sector players’ acting in concert were the topics of the speeches given by David Orban, Pietro Sella, Claudio Marenzi and Ivan Scalfarotto.
The new section dedicated to Sustainability also made its debut, presenting samples of textiles and accessories produced using certified materials and processes, with the participation of buyers, designers and journalists from all over the world.
Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8, Milano Unica continues with events, special Areas and ideas for the S/S 2019 collections.
