MU Sustainable Innovation: news from the 29th edition

Here what you need to know about Sustainability at the trade show

Milano Unica is getting ready for the 29th edition with a rich and well organized itinerary. Among the most awaited event areas, the one dedicated to MU Sustainable Innovation stands out.

The project, now in its fourth edition, has grown considerably, with the participation of a greater number of exhibitor companies increasingly commitment towards sustainable fashion without neglecting creativity. The February edition focused on industrial processes, which continue to hold a preeminent position in relation to products manufactured with only sustainable materials; yet, progress continues. The challenge for the 29th Milano Unica edition is something that has become a crucial theme in the industry, namely the combination of sustainability and creativity.

For the July 2019 edition, exhibitors were invited to present more innovative product samples by also following the themes of the MU A/W 2020-2021 Tendenze. The new "FancyGreen, EverGreen" concept reflects, on one hand, the changes in the industry, including an increasing number of green products, and, on the other, companies’ increased attention to the values of sustainability and worker health. The presentation of EverGreen products, classical and/or carryover, will go hand in hand with the presentation of the trendier FancyGreen products, all for the purpose of showcasing beautiful, creative and innovative fabrics and accessories with the added value of sustainability.

This phase marks the overcoming of the common belief that sustainability applies only to classic and carryover products.

The results achieved by the new edition will be distributed through all the communication channels of Milano Unica, in the dedicated section of the website and in the official Catalogue dedicated to sustainability.
