All the Areas of Milano Unica July 2021

The theme-based sections, the special projects and the event’s partners

Discover the Areas, projects and special features of the 33rd edition of Milano Unica, which will be held this coming 6-7 July at Fiera Milano Rho, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ICE – the Agency promoting the internationalization of Italian businesses.

 

Along with the rich and variegated collections of textiles and accessories for Autumn/Winter 2022-23, visitors to the trade show will again be able to enjoy the stimuli and suggestions offered by the numerous Areas and projects exhibited by Milano Unica and its partners.

 

Tendenze and Sustainability

Tendenze A/W 2022-23, inspired by the theme of Magnificent Passions, meet sustainable production: as in past editions, the Tendenze and Sustainability Area, in Pavilion 16, will feature creative textiles made with eco-friendly materials and processes. 

 

e-MilanoUnica Connect 

The marketplace for textiles and accessories for apparel will be online with the new collections starting on 8 July. During Milano Unica, exhibitors and buyers can find out more about the project at the dedicated stand, where it will be possible to access the platform and learn about its functions and uses. 

 

Filo

Once again, the Tendenze and Sustainability Area will host a space dedicated to the latest, most interesting trends in the world of fine yarns, a necessary component in the creation of high-end fabrics. 

 

Linen Dream Lab by Celc 

Linen, the uniquely European, creative and innovative green fibre and its labels EUROPEAN FLAX® (European fibre origin) and MASTERS OF LINEN® (European industry from fibre to yarn to fabric). A journey through linen innovations. Stage for services, marketing & promotion: AMO IL LINO retail partnership and its store locator. Barometer of Linen 2021, an International qualitative survey based on 6 major countries to understand the consumers’ perception & expectations on Linen.

 

Origin First

A preview of the Show ORIGIN PASSION AND BELIEFS, which highlights the Italian manufacture of the fashion and accessory sector. A selection of exhibitors to anticipate the production of excellence of Made in Italy at the service of fashion.

 

Research and Innovation Area – TexClubTec

TexClubTec, the technical and performance textiles section of Sistema Moda Italia, will present, in the Innovation Area, in response to the growing need to innovate the product, processes and services, a necessary step or every producer.

10 companies will be present, representing the entire production chain and exhibiting cutting-edge products, providing special performance characteristics or made using innovative processes, providing an overview of the rich and diversified offer of the main sector players.

The Innovation Area will also contain an expository Forum, whose focus in this edition will be on Bio-materials and their applications in the apparel sector. The Forum will thus present textiles will a low environmental impact, because they are biodegradable or made from biomasses (organic material).

Accademia Costume & Moda

Accademia Costume & Moda (ACM), during the 33rd Edition of "Milano Unica" presents the Industry Projects developed by the students of the Master in Fabrics Innovation Design, in partnership with some of the main leading companies in the Italian textile sector: Clerici Tessuto, Dondi Jersey, Dyloan Bond Factory, Lanificio di Sordevolo, Ratti and The Woolmark Company.

Founded in Rome in 1964 by Rosana Pistolese and from 2020 presents in Milan with a new campus, Accademia Costume & Moda is an educational excellence of the fashion sector at international level.

In first position globally (tied with two other international schools) in the Fashion Design category of The Business of Fashion "Best Fashion Schools in the World 2019" ranking, ACM boasts an 85% recruitment rate for the Undergraduate course and 90% for Masters, in Italy and around the world, and collaborations with over 150 companies in the fashion industry (Maison and manufactures) and entertainment. Furthermore, also in 2019, it was included among the 25 best fashion schools worldwide in the international ranking "The Top 25 Fashion Schools in the World: 2019" of Fashionista.

The Master in Fabrics Innovation Design, in collaboration with numerous Made in Italy manufacturing companies, trains figures linked to creativity and innovation in fabric research and development, able to connect offices with suppliers in the development of collections.

The Industry Projects of the course developed the involvement of the most relevant companies in the sector and involve professionals and designers who follow their development with the aim of reconciling the skills, research, experimentation and techniques of the final product.
