The 31st Edition of Milano Unica closed on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 sending out a strong signal of recovery. Milano Unica was the first trade show in Italy to open its doors after the lockdown, with the participation of 207 exhibitors, 36 of which foreign, presenting their collections of high-end fabrics and accessories for the F/W 2021-22 season.
Also significant was the number of visitors, which included 2,400 companies, of which approximately 400 foreign, from Europe, the USA and Japan.

The Opening Ceremony opened the event and was introduced by the President of Milano Unica Alessandro Barberis Canonico, who thanked the participating exhibitors, underscoring the importance of sending out a message of confidence for a restart in this exceptional period.
The President was joined by Marino Vago, President of Sistema Moda Italia; Cirillo Marcolin, President of Confindustria Moda; Carlo Maria Ferro, President of ICE Agency, and Luigi Di Maio, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The 31st edition of Milano Unica
The presence of the exhibitors of Ideabiella, Moda In and Shirt Avenue, playing a central role in the trade show, was accompanied by the areas dedicated to the main projects developed by Milano Unica.
e-MilanoUnica Connect, the digital marketplace evolving with new and advanced features, presented an interactive space. The new digital project developed by Milano Unica provides professionals with a modern, effective and comprehensive tool that integrates and facilitates the traditional sales process thanks to an immersive experience.

Tendenze and Sustainability
Similarly to the past edition in February 2020, the Tendenze area and the Sustainability area showcased the best creative – and sustainable - proposals designed by the exhibitors and inspired by the Milano Unica Tendenze themes in a single exhibition space.
This underlines once again Milano Unica’s commitment to promote the combination of creative product content and attention to the environment.
The fabrics and accessories developed by the participating exhibitors were presented around a maxi video cube also featuring the fantastic creatures of Monsters and Perfumes, with the corresponding chromatic, visual and olfactory suggestions.

Exhibition areas and content projects
The 31st edition was enriched by MU Designers, with the participation of textile designers, MU Info & Style, dedicated to business services, MU Trade Press, with a selection of trade press and specialized magazines and Filo, the area focused on trends upstream of the textile supply chain.
In addition, there were also the Special Contents of the Linen Dream Lab by Celc, the space dedicated to linen, the European green fiber of the future, and Banca Sella, offering industry-targeted innovative financial, banking and insurance solutions.
