Milano Unica - 38th edition

The 38th edition of Milano Unica, the international trade show featuring excellence in textiles and apparel accessories, dropped the curtains on February 1.

The number of international buyers increased remarkably by +26% with 1,903 participating companies. The overall figure was also positive with a total of 5,886  visitors, up 11% compared to the corresponding 2023 edition. 508 exhibitors presented their Spring/Summer 2025 collections, up 7% compared to the February 2023 edition.

MU Tendenze Sostenibilità

The notion of creativity that combines indissolubly with sustainability is essential to Milano Unica’s vision. This has always been the guiding principle for the selection of fabrics and accessories of the MU Tendenze Sostenibilità Area.

The rising numbers confirm the growing interest in the project. The Area showcased 2,776 products from 342 exhibitors. Read this article for an in-depth analysis of the results achieved.

 

 

MU Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony was an important moment for insights on Artificial Intelligence among key industry players. Projections and challenges were discussed by the speakers: Marco Montemagno, Founder 4Books, Ottavio Fogliata, Founder and CEO of StoryKube, Nicola Gatti, Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano, moderated by Enrico Pagliarini, journalist for Radio24.

Alessandro Barberis Canonico, President of Milano Unica, introduced Simone Canclini, who will succeed him in the position.

The steady support of institutions was confirmed by Maurizio Forte, Managing Director Export Promotion Department of the Italian Trade Agency ITA, Sergio Tamborini, President of Sistema Moda Italia, and Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy.

MU Cocktail

The MU Cocktail served as a networking opportunity at the end of the first day of the event, with a light dinner by Da Vittorio and a DJ set, hosting a celebratory moment for the 10th anniversary of the Japan Observatory at Milano Unica.

 

 

Back to School

Milano Unica's event dedicated to young talents from fashion schools featured Sabato De Sarno, Creative Director of Gucci. "With extreme naturalness and authenticity, Sabato told his story," getting very close to the more than 1,000 students in attendance, "speaking with empathy and emotion, conveying the values at the base of every path: passion, dedication determination and courage," recalled Massimo Mosiello, General Manager of Milano Unica.

 

 

e-MilanoUnica Connect

The trade show continues online with e-MilanoUnica Connect, Milano Unica's digital marketplace, including the publication of inspirational narratives in collaboration with Zoom on Fashion Trends to stimulate conversations and contacts with and among the participating companies.

 

 

The next appointment with Milano Unica is the 39th edition scheduled on July 9, 10, 11, 2024.
