The results of Milano Unica July 2019

Exhibitors and buyers are satisfied

The 29th edition of Milano Unica, dedicated to the Autumn/Winter 2020-21 collections, has registered positive results in terms of participation and interest. The quality of the collections of fabrics and accessories presented was much appreciated by Italian and foreign buyers and exhibitor companies expressed satisfaction about the contacts made.

The event registered a consolidated number of participating companies with over 6,000 companies, and an increased number of foreign visitors (+2.6%), while the number of Italian companies remained stable.

In particular, companies from Great Britain (+11%), France (+10%) and the USA (+3.5%) contributed to the positive result, compensating for the decreased number of Chinese (-13.7%) and German (-14.7%) buyers, resulting in an overall increased attendance.

e-MilanoUnica marketplace, the exclusive B2B info-commerce service developed by Milano Unica and dedicated to professionals in the high-end textile and accessories sector, is one of the new initiatives. The digital platform, which presents the best of the collections of exhibitor companies, raised great interest, offering companies and buyers an exclusive context for establishing contacts and networking, extending the year round the opportunities offered by the physical trade show to the digital world. The new edition of the marketplace is now online with more than 150 participating companies.

Particular appreciation was also expressed for other content proposals, such as the MU Sustainable Innovation project, which proposed a new concept -"FancyGreen, EverGreen" – highlighting the relationship between sustainability and fashion trends with a view to overcoming the commonplace that considers that sustainable garments cannot be beautiful and trendy. The presentation of EverGreen products, classic and/or continuous, was accompanied by the presentation of the FancyGreen products, featuring more creative and innovative fabrics and accessories.

The July edition presented MU Tendenze. “Ecorotica”, the theme identified for the Autumn/Winter 2020-21 season, proposed inspirations and suggestions derived from the world of art, cinema and photography and three universes: Ecorotic Drama, Ecorotic Circus and Ecorotic Eden, where the individual sphere of hedonism finds points of contact with the universal need for sustainability and respect of our planet.

The next edition of Milano Unica will be held in Shanghai, September 25, 26, 27,   2019.

The appointment for the 30th edition of Milano Unica is at Rho Fieramilano on February 4, 5, 6,   2020.
