SS 2020 Trends and the Sustainability Project: what you need to know

A preview of the most visited Areas at Milano Unica

The 28th edition of Milano Unica is just around the corner, along with its most awaited and visited Areas: the Tendenze Area and the Sustainability Project.

The Tendenze Area represents the trade show’s throbbing heart of creativity. The end point of a journey that starts with the presentation of the new Trends, an exclusive event that Milano Unica organizes months before the beginning of the trade show to reveal the theme chosen for the season.

At the heart of the SS 2020 Trends is the Music Menu, divided in three lines, creatively combining musical genres, different historical periods and food from all over the world:  ’80s Cous Cous Rap, ’50s Bon Bon Jazz and ’70s Funky Tabbouleh.

The Tendenze Area of the Milano Unica February 2019 edition presents the samples that exhibitors have created based on the Music Menu inspiration and they are displayed according to “time islands”, involving visitors in a sensory and aesthetic experience not to be missed with the music, mood and suggestions from the period to which each theme is dedicated.

“Sustainable Innovation” is the leitmotif of the new edition of the Sustainability Project, which on this occasion is significantly enriched and evolved, both in its substantive approach to the theme and in the promotion criteria of its participants.

Process sustainability is a key pillar for the selection and promotion of businesses and their products, which will not only be displayed within the dedicated Area, but also presented through all Milano Unica channels, like, for instance, our web site, with a dedicated section and the official Catalogue available both as a printout and online.

Consistently with its commitment to sustainability and following the guidelines identified by SMI – Sistema Moda Italia, Milano Unica has implemented a series of initiatives to raise participants’ awareness and reduce the carbon footprint of the trade show. A concrete approach that in its simplicity contributes to strengthening a shared path for a more sustainable future.
