Milano Unica S/S 2017 Trends

North and South of the world represent the DNA of the new trends

Four themes are proposed by Milano Unica for the Spring/Summer 2017 season: ABYSSES, NATURE and ARTIFICE, AFRICA PUNK and PSYCHO BIT, defined in elaborate research, underscoring common obsessions, intuitions and provocations, visions and affinities that are common to the North and the South of the world and that represent the true DNA of trends.

NATURE AND ARTIFICE - A mosaic of real and artificial geometric landscapes, a vision from the top of different areas of the world, showing natural landscapes with defined contours interrupted by human intervention. The key colors are green and grey, alternated by touches of orange hues, enlivening the landscapes. Prints recall the element of earth, and even the most classic fabrics are proposed in an urban version with hi-tech inserts. Natural textures are re-interpreted through special interwoven patterns and lace is laminated and in relief; gauze is dyed and coupled. Porphyry and stone play the joker's role both for fabrics and accessories; buttoning and buckles are in silicone rubber mixed with cloth.

AFRICA PUNK – This is black, magical and sensual Africa; the strength is given by the power of nature, the fight for survival and by the black color, symbol of the punk catharsis. Key colors are yellow, red and the natural hues, accompanied by white and black that define details and profiles. Fringes are the distinctive trait, the result of weaves and patterns obtained with chromed rubber wires and multi-color, transparent or lurex ribbons. Graphics are smeared, as if they were tar, to express a more metropolitan and punk concept of exoticism. Geometries are in relief with pointed shapes and 3D sections to highlight the warlike vocation of this theme. Tribal tattoos are a source of inspiration for the metal decorations. The accessory is a must-have, like the macro-buttons characterized by the overlapping of scales and metal inserts.

PSYCHO BIT - The two terms, “psycho” and “bit”, recall two worlds combined together: the psychedelic one with the colored pinwheels and the technological one with geometric mosaics. The colors are violent, almost optical flashes of yellow, pink, purple and green. The black and white of the bits shape blurred and 3D geometric graphics. The theme’s focus is the hologram print on a glossy base, that seems to be moving and giving  the fabric a a kinetic effect. An important element is fake fur, a mix of cotton, raffia and rubber threads. Vinyl is present, as it belongs both to the psychedelic and the technological world. Accessories are all characterized by details in silicone rubber and in satined and opaque metal. Appliqués, studs and multicolored rhinestones overlap optical stripes printed on plastics and vinyl.
