Milano Unica F/W 2017-2018: the New Beginning
The new course for the 23rd edition of Milano Unica marks a shift from the past
The new course, a restyled Milano Unica for a 23rd edition that marks a shift from the past. Starting from the location, Fieramilano Rho, which hosted over 440 exhibitors and 6,000 visitors from September 6-8. Key focus: fashion, essence and inspiration of textiles with international events and appointments that enriched the trade show, transforming the experience of those already familiar with it.
THE NEW BEGINNING - This is a New Beginning, through which the exhibition transforms itself to address a very select and strategically important public for high-level exhibitors. Creativity remains at the core of the Made-in-Italy production thanks to the promotion of events like Milano Unica ON AIR, an appointment that rewards the flavors of Italian gastronomy and the ON BOARD exhibition, a collective exhibition showcasing the moodboards of Italian designers next to the collections they inspired with a space dedicated to the students of both Italian and international schools. “The Fabric Program” and the 23rd International Lab by Mittelmoda, the talent show of the most important international fashion schools from 55 countries, are dedicated to the new fashion talents, for the first time in Milan.
TEAMING UP - Events like Origin of Passion and Beliefs, an exhibition within Milano Unica dedicated to suppliers of man-made semi-finished and finished products, promoted by Fiera Vicenza, confirm that “teaming up” is now standard operating procedure at Milano Unica, whose opening overlapped with the final day of Micam and Mipel, the international trade shows dedicated to footwear and leather accessories.
THE FIGURES - The 23rd edition of Milano Unica, supported by the Italian Ministry for Economic Development and its operating arm - ICE Agency -, included 382 exhibitors, 79 of which European, along with the businesses participating in the Observatories: 39 from Japan and 21 from Korea, for a total of 442 exhibitors. This result is in line with the 2015 September edition, but more significant given the new and rigorous selection criteria that characterized the “New Beginning”.
