Milano Unica: a training stage for fashion schools and technical-vocational institutes

A special invitation to students and young talents for a unique experience at the core of fashion

With as many as fifty fashion schools and approximately thirty technical institutes already registered for the 38th edition, Milano Unica is preparing to welcome a large group of students. This initiative is the result of the collaboration between Milano Unica and the Education Committee of Confindustria Moda. The latter played a central role in expanding the scope of the event by encouraging the participation of an increasing number of technical-professional institutes and emphasizing the importance of the trade show not only in the fashion industry but also in specialist training and education.

Milano Unica provides young talents attending fashion schools with an opportunity to participate and come into direct contact with the most prominent companies in the textiles and clothing accessories industry.

This hands-on involvement is key to showing students a possible training path while making them understand more about the world of labor. Students may come across opportunities not only in the fashion industry but also in the technical field. In fact, textile specialists are in great demand – including textile and chemical technicians, computer and mechanical experts, dyeing specialists, tanning experts, etc. - thus contributing to training qualified professionals who are increasingly in demand in today's job panorama. Demand is also high for profiles in the fields of e-commerce, digitization, and sustainability. Therefore, it is of the essence to integrate training for the professional profiles that cover these areas, which are becoming increasingly fundamental for one of Italy’s most important manufacturing sectors, a flagship for Italian exports. The trade show represents a living laboratory where students can apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classrooms.

The collaboration of the fashion and accessories industry with the technical and vocational institutes represents an important commitment for Milano Unica to nurture the passion of future industry professionals by creating a tangible bridge between the academic and professional worlds.
