The new generation of highly digitized industrial machines, such as inkjet or 3D printers, or software for sample simulation or for remote maintenance, represent a great opportunity for companies not only in terms of quality and production efficiency, but also in terms of sustainability. In fact, they provide several advantages: optimization of resources, reduced consumption, faster processes. It is, therefore, essential that investment in the development and use of these technologies continue, but above all in training competent personnel capable of using and designing them: a challenge yet to be overcome and which will require the combined efforts of industry and the educational system.
