Sportswear brands come out for the oceans
Adidas in the front lines of “Parley for the Oceans”
The Market - MU Sustainable Innovation
Among the brands most committed to using recycled and reused materials in their production, Adidas is certainly a leader: after recently announcing a commitment to use exclusively recycled polyester by 2024, the company has actively joined the Parley for the Oceans project, whose aim is to utilize fishing nets and plastic waste removed from the sea as raw materials. Paul&Shark, which recently presented a “Save the Sea” jacket made with recovered plastic, is moving in the same direction. The same can be said about the VF Corporation group, which has for some time been working towards the same ends, evidence of the concrete efforts being made by sportswear companies to reduce their environmental impact.
