Milano Unica COSMETIC, in this edition, unveils an unprecedented and experimental combination of two areas of exploration: innovative textiles and cosmetics.
The focus, here, is on the body, which is always in contact with the two materials: textiles and cosmetics. They envelop, enhance, protect and embellish the body, forming part of the routine of getting dressed, applying skincare products, a ritual that is performed to appeal to others and, above all, ourselves.
The research underpinning MU COSMETIC for the upcoming Spring-Summer 2027 Season seeks to strengthen existing connections between textiles, fashion and cosmetics. These three areas interact with materials offering tactile, visual and olfactory sensations through textures, colours and finishes, all of which are founded on identity, self-expression and sharing values relating to transformation, rituals and desires.
In this context where textiles and cosmetics are combined, beauty and pleasure converge. Touch or contact with the material-fabric becomes the ultimate luxury of a kind of fashion, offering visual gratification and unparalleled refinement through the experience of wearing garments that caress the body to its core with sensitivity.
Fabric takes on cosmetic properties: it hydrates, is breathable, provides comfort and protection, and gives off a pleasant scent, drawing ever closer to the skin, a responsive part of the body that needs to be pampered, rejuvenated and invigorated. This is because the future of fashion and cosmetics depends on shared values, processes and transparent methods of production.
With these considerations in mind, MU COSMETIC has elaborated the following themes for the Spring-Summer 2027 Season:
THE ESSENTIAL BEAUTY
Here, the focus is on the daily practice of self-care, involving a silent ritual that engages the senses of touch, sight and smell. Thus, the world of textiles draws inspiration from beauty routines and natural skincareproducts with clean, transparent formulas.
Fabrics evoke the organic essence of skin, caressing it as though it were a cream or serum. Their simple fibres ensure breathability, and their silky, velvety texture provides tactile and visual comfort.

Evening cosmetic products embody their own set of rules designed to enhance one’s personal image, tied to the desire to attract and feel attractive.
The aesthetic playfully combines the elegance of shadow noir with hints of veiled allure, intertwining drama and sensuality to create a sophisticated and glamorous vibe.

THE GLOWING BEAUTY
The inspiration for this theme comes from protective, high-performance summer cosmetics such as sun cream, gels to combat fatigue, active water ingredients and invigorating oils, a suite of solutions designed to promote wellbeing and enhance life outdoors.
This prompted research into breathable textiles that are able to filter sunlight and heat, while also providing a cooling effect and releasing a fragrance. These technical fabrics have a fluid or organic feel. They are lightweight and airy, highly comfortable and seductively pleasant to wear
